Bay Area Community Health Centers are reaching out to soon-to-be retired and retired physicians who can work part-time caring for their patients. The Encore Physicians Program currently has 11 retired physicians working in these clinics and is seeking to fill additional available positions. The clinics are in counties around the Bay Area, and physicians are placed locally and compensated for a typical schedule of two days per week and a one-year commitment. The greatest need is for primary care physicians – Family and Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and Behavioral Health – but many clinics also seek targeted specialist physicians.
