ACCMA and Medical Societies Submit Joint Letter to Gov. Newsom July 2, 2020 Advocacy COVID-19, Public Health ACCMA and four other Bay Area Medical Societies, representing over 10,000 physician members, submitted a joint letter to Governor Newsom drawing attention to the alarming COVID-19 outbreak at San Quentin state prison. The number of infected, which has passed 1,000, has implications for the incarcerated population and the staff at San Quentin, and for the capacity of the local hospitals to which many of these patients have been transferred.
