AB 2060: Converting the Medical Board of CA to a Public Member Majority

CMA is urging all physicians and medical students to contact their Assemblymembers to urge them to vote “No” on AB 2060 (Quirk). This bill seeks to change the composition of the Medical Board of California to a public member majority and eliminate the physician majority of the board’s disciplinary panels.

AB 2060 would put the regulation of the practice of medicine in the hands of people who do not have the education, skills, and training to make policy decisions affecting physicians.

AB 2060 can be taken up for an Assembly Floor vote as soon as Thursday, May 12.
